Due to Covid 19, the importance of TV as well as the user's experience have expanded.
Also with the opening of the future mobility era, Lifestyle which uses a variety of space has become common.
Specifically, Smart TV has become part of our daily life and OTT services have expanded.
That's why products with various screens are being introduced in the internet-accessible environment.
The role of traditional TV which we used to enjoy altogether has diversified as well.
In this market environment,
Consumers are eager to see new products inched up from the existing TVs as screens can enrich their lives.
We tried to come up with a new product that can be expanded infinitely by consumers' lives and ideas.
That's how we launch the new lifestyle screen that is closer to the lives of consumers.

What should we design
the exclusive features for the Freestyle?
We had to define the content and exclusive features,
so we had been trying to understand the projector usage experience deeply.
Understand the purpose of using a projector.
Through interviews and research with existing projector MZ users, we understood how to use the projector in their lifestyle.
And understanding current trends and planning content that will be attractive to the MZ generation.

I can remodel my monotonous room with the atmosphere I want

Customer Needs
Studied the projector contents experience
By researching the content provision method of existing projectors, supplemented the improvement points of the experience
and specified features that can be differentiated from the existing ones.
I bought this because it is a smart projector,
but there are many services it doesn't support.
And it is not easy to connect it to a TV or to smart phone
* It can be related to the 'Smart platform' and 'Exclusive features'

Need to consider the various possible scenario in the indoor and outdoor
The Freestyle is free to move as it has an all-around design; 180-degree cradle stand and compact design.
So, we should consider to disconnection experience point when the users use the projector in the various cases.
1) Indoor Scenario
- What if there is some obstacle (furniture, frame, poster and so on)on the wall which want to project
- What if there are installation limits due to power supply location

The smart way to enjoy your content
Experience various contents from Samsung smart platform
The Freestyle supports the Smart platform so users can watch content and shows services such as TV plus, certified OTT
(Netflix, Youtube, Disney Plus, Amazone prime and etc), music and health app.
So do not need to plug a streaming stick to watch the subscribed service.
Design Point.
By applying the same platform as the smart TV, the convenience of content experience was emphasized so that various contents such as the OTT app can be used without device connection. Some functions that can be specialized for the projector only were designed and applied as a differentiator.

Connect and watch your TV from any room via the projector
When connecting the Freestyle and your main TV using mirroring, the user can watch the same content with the connected TV or even can control channels or change the main TV source on the projector.
So, users can watch the Live contents of TV without any restriction of the environment in any room.

Perfect Screen fit
Optimized the screen automatically regardless of the environment
The Freestyle is highly portable, so it provides useful features so that users can see the best display regardless of the projection environment. The keystone, auto-levelling and focus can be set to optimize the screen on the projection surface automatically. In addition, the intuitive UI for the Scale & Move feature allows users to adjust the screen size (range from 30" to 100") easily without physically moving the device regardless of the distance from the wall and thus change the projection to a better area.
Design Point.
Discovered the lots of cases from can be projected (Installation ways and environment), and then designed screen setting features for optimizing screens easily and intuitively (Keystone, Focus, Scale and move). The proceeding user test was able to improve the high-quality set-up experience.
Set-up experience followed these directions; Simple layout, minimize steps and do not need to learn.

Projecting screen always stays horizontal even though The Freestyle is on tiled surface

You do not need to set focus yourself, a clear picture is automatically provided.

You don't need to move the Freestyle to adjust the screen size and location.

Transform your space into whatever your want it to be
Projecting the Freestyle-specific ambient content into space, users can change the mood of the space.
With various concepts for decorating the interior or displaying the scenery, they can feel as if they are in a completely different space. The Freestyle provides various concepts and types of content for creating mood.

Selected categories that can effectively change the mood of space through content analysis that users use a lot with the projector.

Picture is my heart, music is my soul
Enjoy the music by watching and listening
The Freestyle gives BT or AI speaker experience for music. When connecting mobile with BT, various patterns dynamically
decorate the wall (Music wall). Also, with a Lens cap on the projector, the Music wall turns into mood lighting to fill the room. Additionally, music can be controlled by voice so users can playback music by Bixby easily.
Moreover, the amazing 360 room-filling sound makes your heart beat faster.
Design Point.
We planned an experience where can enjoy music with ears and eyes.
Applied 'Music Wall' content that allows you to see various visuals according to the music when connected via Bluetooth.
The music wall also turns into a room mood maker as well.

Enjoy your screen outside
Outdoor environment can't be hurdle of contents experience
It can be used in outdoor activities, so it provides an ideal experience for outdoor.
It gives a wider range of connectivity options that make it easy to watch smartphone content through casting, BT, mirroring
and simple Hotspot connection. Additionally, with long-distance voice commands and mobile app, they can also easily control it without using remote controls. So these features make it ideal for travel and activities.
Design Point.
In consideration of various cases that may occur in outdoor use, the experience has been strengthened. We propose a perfect content viewing experience without any gaps; the QR code execution button that can immediately launch the mobile remote control, the 'Tap view' that allows easily connect mirroring by simply tapping the mobile to the projector, and the experience that allows connecting a mobile hotspot immediately when there is no Wi-Fi.
